Brief Biography:
Vaidehi holds a master's degree in architectural conservation and a doctorate in architecture from the Università Degli Studi di Palermo in Italy. She studied urban colonial landscape and architecture in Pune as an aspect of her doctoral dissertation under the theme "Analysis, Planning, and Representation of Local, Urban, Historical Architectural, and Artistic Resources of Architecture." Vaidehi is exploring humanistic issues in relating history, context, people, culture, politics, and societal transformations with built manifestations in the architectural studio and her teaching. She has visited numerous sites and historic settlements in India and overseas during her research that has enriched her as a designer and a resource in the field of Architecture.   Her passions include exploring many art forms, particularly music and the visual arts. She believes that architectural studios cannot be taught without considering the history of the place and social context with a people-centric approach. To be a sympathetic designer, she believes, one should be more tolerant and respect pluralism in society.
