Brief Biography:
Priyanka Mangaonkar is trained as an Architect & Interior-Designer, and specializes in Craft and Technology from CEPT University, Ahmedabad. She is passionate about Interior Architecture, Craft and Technology, Materials and Construction Techniques, Design Research and Writing. She has worked as a project co-ordinator with the Centre for Sustainable Environment and Energy (CSEE), Ahmadabad for a project titled ‘Energy efficiency Improvements in Indian Brick Industry’ for promoting energy efficiency in the Indian brick sector with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). She has conducted workshops and presentations in the country on crafts and also has published articles on various topics related to unique materials like terracotta. She has been doing research and documentation of Construction History of Pune focusing on Post Independence era in India and published two research papers as co-author at Cambridge, UK. In her spare time, she likes to make craft objects, Ceramics, Murals, read novels and sketch.

Worked as a Project co- coordinator for a project titled “Energy Efficient Improvements in Indian brick Industry” at CARBSE, Ahmedabad. Worked as a Junior architect at G.D. Sambhare in Santacruz, Mumbai.

Published a paper at Fourth Annual congress organized by “Construction History Society” held at Cambridge, UK in 2017. Presented a research paper at Third annual congress organized by “Construction History Society” held at Cambridge, UK in 2016. Published Research paper at “National Conference on Sustainable built Environment” at IIT Roorkee in 2015. Published a Reserach paper at “National Conference on Green Buildings for Sustainable Development” held at MITS, Gwalior in 2015. Conducted a two day Terracotta Workshop at IIT Roorkee on “Transformation of Terracotta through Time & Technology” in 2014. Presented at Pecha Kucha Night 20X20 event, Vol. 9 in Mumbai in 2013. Presented a paper and Participated in Space making (Earth) Craft Workshop by Design Innovation and Craft Resource Centre (DICRC), CEPT University, Ahmadabad in 2012. A poster based on final year master’s thesis was displayed at IIID showcase organized in Mumbai in 2012. Published two articles in “Chitralekha International Magazine on Art and Design” in 2012. Selected for IMIAD (International Masters of Interior Architecture and Design) Workshop held at Edinburgh, UK in 2009.
